Children enter Nursery 1 in the term that they are 3 years old. It is co-educational. The recommendation is that a child starts with 3 sessions a week, increasing entirely with regards to parents wishes. Once the child is in receipt of the Early Years Funding (the term after their third birthday) we reserve five sessions for your child. Children in Nursery 1 may stay all day, moving to Nursery 2 for the afternoon session. The setting is small and cosy, with doors leading to the well equipped play area/garden, giving the children the opportunity to continue the learning process outdoors, in a safe secure environment. The class numbers are kept intentionally small with never more than 12 children, thus enabling the staff to give an exceptionally high quality of care. The children are given well planned learning experiences that help develop their knowledge, understanding and skills across all areas of the foundation stage, with specialist teaching in Music, P.E. and Speech and Drama. Above all, it is the aim for the children to have fun, whilst learning, therefore making the transition from home to school a happy experience.
