Drama
Speech and Drama lessons, where pupils aim for the graded examination certificates and medals from LAMDA, are on offer to all pupils throughout the school. These are popular with all girls from Year 7 to the Sixth Form.

Enrichment sees many Drama activities offered to girls from year 7 to year 10. The Storytelling Session is where the pupils are introduced to modern classics in literature through the teacher reading the work or listening to it on audio tape. Examples of these include “Twopence to Cross the Mersey” by Helen Forrester; “The Ruby in the Smoke” by Philip Pullman and “Flour Babies” by Anne Fine. The pupils also enact scenes using the themes and characters as stimuli.

There is a Year 10 Drama Club on offer in Enrichment for those enthusiastic about Drama but who are not studying the subject at GCSE level. The girls participate in improvisations and scripted work for performance.

Script-writing is also an Enrichment Activity where interested Year 9 and 10 pupils learn the skills and techniques of script-writing before writing their own scripts from comedy to tragedy.

There is also an annual school play which is open to all pupils in Years 7 to 10. They can act, paint scenery, assist with set, costume and make-up whilst Sixth Formers take on the challenge of technical support. Examples of past productions include the musical, 'The Boyfriend'; an innovative interpretation of 'Bugsy' and 'Daisy Pulls It Off'.
